Account book [transcript, microform], 1638-1697. 1664-1670 (bulk dates).

A transcript of volume III of John Pynchon's account books. In addition to the usual store transactions, Pynchon traded with the Indians for fur, dealt in meat and livestock, operated corn and saw mills, recorded a business trip to England, and contributed to building a house for his son-in-law Joseph Whiting. Customers paid with local products or services. In the original ledger, debits and credits for a customer were on facing pages, but when the volume was transcribed, the accounts were put on consecutive pages. The earliest date, 1638, was for a reference to an old account book of William Pynchon.
